Chlorinated Rubber Paint

Performance and Uses

This product is a single-component, fast-drying, high-build topcoat formulated with chlorinated rubber as the base material, complemented with weather-resistant pigments and fillers.

  • Outstanding Abrasion & Weather Resistance: The paint film exhibits excellent durability and wear resistance against harsh atmospheric conditions.

  • Fast Drying & Easy Application: Quick drying times optimize application efficiency and convenience.

  • Excellent Low-Temperature Application: Performs well in a wide temperature range of $-10^\circ\text{C}$ to $30^\circ\text{C}$. At a substrate temperature of $-5^\circ\text{C}$, the surface dry time requires only 120 minutes.

  • Superior Intercoat Adhesion: Bonds excellently with compatible anti-corrosive primers. It is ideal for use in combination with Epoxy MIO (Micaceous Iron Oxide) or chlorinated rubber primer series.

Applications

Suitable for the decorative surface coating of industrial structures such as steel structures, storage tanks, and pipeline exteriors. It is also widely applicable for the protective and decorative coating of marine steel structures, including vessel hulls (above the waterline), superstructures, decks, and cargo holds.

Surface Preparation

  • The surface of the substrate coated with a primer or intermediate coat must be clean and dry. Use an appropriate detergent and high-pressure fresh water to thoroughly remove surface contaminants.

  • If applying over an old epoxy or polyurethane paint film, the surface of the old coating must be abraded/roughened.

Application Conditions

  • Temperature & Humidity: The application temperature range is $-10 \sim 30^\circ\text{C}$ with a relative humidity (RH) below 85%. The substrate surface temperature must be at least $3^\circ\text{C}$ above the dew point.

  • Measurement: Temperature and humidity should be measured in the immediate vicinity of the substrate.

  • Low-Temperature Constraints: For application below $0^\circ\text{C}$, the surface to be coated must be completely free of ice, snow, or frost.

  • High-Temperature Constraints: Coating operations are not recommended if the substrate surface temperature exceeds $40^\circ\text{C}$. Do not apply during adverse weather conditions such as rain, snow, or heavy wind/sandstorms.

Coating System Compatibility

  • Preceding Coats (Primers):

    • High-Build Epoxy MIO Primer (Epoxy Micaceous Iron Oxide Primer)

    • High-Build Chlorinated Rubber Iron Oxide Red Primer

    • High-Build Chlorinated Rubber Aluminum Primer

Storage

  • Store this product in a cool, dry, and well-ventilated indoor warehouse. The shelf life is one year under normal room temperature conditions.

Safety Precautions

  • All sources of ignition are strictly prohibited at the mixing and application sites. Maintain excellent ventilation throughout.

  • Applicators must wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) to prevent inhalation of paint mist and contact with eyes or skin.

  • If paint contacts the skin, wash immediately with soap and water. If it splashes into the eyes, rinse immediately with plenty of water and seek medical attention promptly.
