Solvent-free Epoxy Coating

Performance & Uses

A two-component, solvent-free specialized anti-corrosive coating based on solvent-free modified epoxy resin, formulated with inert corrosion-resistant pigments, extenders, anti-corrosive additives, and a dedicated curing agent. With a volume solids content of nearly 100%, it forms a dense, non-porous paint film with exceptionally high resistance to permeation. It is specifically designed for the internal lining protection of storage tanks.

  • The coating film is dense and smooth with extremely low water absorption. It exhibits outstanding resistance to continuous immersion in oils and water, refined petroleum products, sewage, and chemical media, remaining free of peeling or blistering over long-term immersion.

  • Excellent chemical stability, offering high resistance to acids, alkalis, and salts. It effectively resists precipitation-induced corrosion from tank media, ensuring a long-term protective lifespan.

  • Superior adhesion, forming a firm bond with carbon steel plates and concrete tank walls. It features high hardness, abrasion resistance, and erosion resistance, making it highly suitable for conditions involving flowing media.

  • Solvent-free, environmentally friendly formulation with ultra-low VOCs, zero volatile organic solvents, and no irritating odor. It provides high safety during application within enclosed tank environments and complies with explosion-proof and environmental regulations.

Suitable for crude oil tanks, diesel tanks, kerosene tanks, potable water tanks, wastewater tanks, and chemical solvent tanks. It is widely used for the anti-corrosive protection of internal tank walls, tank bottoms, and tank roofs, and can also be applied to pipelines in oil tank farms, sedimentation basins, and storage silos.

Drying Time & Overcoating Interval

Substrate Temp. (∘C) Surface Dry (min) Hard Dry (h) Min. Overcoating (h) Max. Overcoating Interval
5 160 32 20 72 h
10 90 20 10 72 h
20 50 12 6 72 h
30 30 8 4 72 h

Surface Preparation

For steel plates, the substrate surface must be blast-cleaned to Sa2.5 standard to remove mill scale, grease, salt, and rust, with the surface roughness controlled between 40–$75\,\mu\text{m}$. For concrete storage tank walls, the surface must be sound, dry, free of hollows/voids or cracks, with a moisture content of $\le 8\%$. Thorough degreasing and dust removal must be performed prior to application. Keep the interior of the tank clean and dry. Any old coatings must be completely abraded or scraped off.

Application Conditions

The application temperature range is 5–$35^\circ\text{C}$, with relative humidity (RH) below 80%. The substrate temperature must be at least $3^\circ\text{C}$ above the dew point. As this product is solvent-free and features low volatility, maintaining normal ventilation inside the storage tank is sufficient. Application is strictly prohibited during condensation, rain, snow, or heavy fog. Anti-static measures must be implemented during application inside tanks.

Coating System

  • Preceding Coat: Epoxy zinc-rich primer, or epoxy anti-corrosive primer.

  • Subsequent Coat: Epoxy topcoat, or anti-static epoxy coating.

  • Note: Blending or compatibility with alkyd-based or oleoresinous bituminous paints is strictly prohibited.

Packaging Specifications

  • Base (Part A): 24 kg

  • Curing Agent (Part B): 3 kg

Storage

This product must be stored in a cool, dry, and well-ventilated explosion-proof indoor warehouse, away from open flames and heat sources, and protected from direct sunlight and rain. The storage temperature should be between 5–$30^\circ\text{C}$. Base and curing agent must be stored separately. The shelf life is 12 months under normal room temperature conditions.

Safety

This product is a solvent-free coating with no organic solvent evaporation and is classified as non-flammable. Maintain good ventilation at the application site. Application personnel must wear respirator masks, safety glasses, anti-static work clothing, and solvent-resistant gloves. Avoid prolonged contact with the paint film. In case of skin contamination, wipe with a suitable cleaning oil first, then wash thoroughly with soap and water. In case of eye contact, rinse immediately with plenty of fresh water and seek medical attention.
