Waterborne Metal Finish

Performance and Uses

This product is an eco-friendly, two-component premium topcoat formulated with a waterborne polyurethane-modified resin as the base material, combined with weather-resistant pigments/fillers, wear-resistant additives, and deionized water. It features high film hardness and exceptional weatherability, classifying it as a high-end waterborne anti-corrosive topcoat.

  • Superior Weather & UV Resistance: Delivers outstanding gloss and color retention. It resists ultraviolet radiation and aging, preventing fading or chalking under long-term outdoor exposure. Its weatherability far exceeds that of standard acrylic topcoats.

  • High Hardness & Robust Protection: Forms a hard, dense, and wear-resistant paint film that withstands impact, scratching, and frequent scrubbing. It offers excellent resistance to acids, alkalis, salt spray, and industrial atmospheric corrosion.

  • Eco-Friendly & Safe Operations: Waterborne, low-VOC formula with zero odor, non-flammable, and non-explosive properties. It provides high application safety without irritating odors, making it ideal for confined plant facilities and construction sites under strict environmental controls.

  • Premium Decorative Finish: Exhibits exceptionally strong substrate adhesion, reliable intercoat bonding, and excellent leveling properties. It cures to a bright, full, and glossy film, delivering a high-end, aesthetically pleasing decorative effect.

Applications

Designed for mid-to-high-end heavy-duty anti-corrosion engineering on bridges, steel-structure industrial facilities, engineering machinery, storage tanks, port equipment, heavy machinery, and municipal guardrails. It is applied as the outermost topcoat in multi-layer anti-corrosion systems to combine long-term protection, weatherability, and premium decoration.

Surface Preparation

  • Prior to application, ensure that the preceding primer or intermediate coat is completely dry, clean, and free of oil stains, dust, salts, and other impurities. The underlying paint film must be smooth, firm, and free of loose flaking.

  • When overcoating existing coatings, the old paint layer must be thoroughly abraded and roughened to eliminate chalked or aged areas. Clean off all dust before application to guarantee robust intercoat adhesion.

Application Conditions

  • Temperature & Humidity: The application temperature range is 5 ~ 35°C with a relative humidity (RH) below 80%. The substrate surface temperature must be at least 3°C above the dew point.

  • Constraints: Application is strictly prohibited in condensing environments, heavy fog, or high humidity to prevent film defects like whitening or loss of gloss. Do not apply outdoors during rain, snow, or severe wind and sandstorms.

  • Sub-Zero Warning: Construction and storage ambient temperatures must never fall below 0°C. Freezing temperatures will break the emulsion phase and ruin the coating.

Coating System Compatibility

  • Preceding Coats: Waterborne Zinc-Rich Primer, Waterborne Epoxy Primer, Epoxy MIO (Micaceous Iron Oxide) Intermediate Paint, or Waterborne Acrylic Primer.

  • System Constraint: Do not pair directly with aggressive, strong solvent-borne coatings to prevent lifting or wrinkling (“paint biting”) of the undercoat.

Packaging Specifications

  • 24 kg / set (Base Paint Part A: 21 kg + Curing Agent Part B: 3 kg)

Storage

  • Store this product in a cool, dry, and well-ventilated indoor warehouse, away from heat sources. Ensure protection against freezing and direct sunlight.

  • The base paint and curing agent must be stored separately. Maintain the storage temperature range between 5°C and 30°C. The shelf life is 12 months under standard room temperature conditions.

Safety Precautions

  • This product is a waterborne coating and is non-flammable and non-explosive. Maintain excellent ventilation throughout the application site.

  • Applicators must wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), including dust/mist masks, safety goggles, and solvent-resistant gloves. Avoid inhaling paint mist.

  • If paint contacts the skin, wash thoroughly with soap and water. If it splashes accidentally into the eyes, rinse immediately with a large volume of water and seek immediate medical attention. Clean all tools with tap water immediately after use.
