Epoxy Anticorrosive Finish

Performance & Uses

A highly durable, two-component, high-build epoxy topcoat based on epoxy resin and polyamide, formulated with coloring pigments and extenders.

  • The paint film is tough and provides high abrasion resistance.

  • Excellent adhesion, flexibility, and impact resistance.

  • Outstanding resistance to salt spray and seawater.

  • Excellent resistance to oils and chemical spillages/leaks.

  • Airless spray application is recommended for high-build coatings.

Designed for protective coating systems in industrial fields such as steel structures, tank externals, and pipelines. It is also suitable for the protection of ship hulls, decks, cargo holds, and other steel surfaces.

Drying Time & Overcoating Interval

Substrate Temp. (∘C) Surface Dry (h) Hard Dry (h) Min. Overcoating (h) Max. Overcoating (d)
5 6 20 24 15
23 3 10 16 7
35 2 8 8 4

Surface Preparation

The surface of the substrate coated with primer or intermediate coat must be clean and dry. Remove surface contamination using a suitable detergent and high-pressure fresh water washing. For application over aged/existing epoxy or polyurethane paint films, the surface must be abraded/roughened before coating.

Application Conditions

The application temperature range is 5–$35^\circ\text{C}$, with relative humidity (RH) below 85%. The substrate surface temperature must be at least $3^\circ\text{C}$ above the dew point, and both temperature and humidity should be measured in the vicinity of the substrate. Application is not recommended when the substrate surface temperature exceeds $40^\circ\text{C}$. Do not apply paint during adverse weather conditions such as rain, snow, heavy winds, or sandstorms.

Coating System

  • Preceding Coat: Epoxy zinc-rich primer, or high-build epoxy micaceous iron oxide (MIO) primer.

Packaging Specifications

  • Base (Part A): 28 kg

  • Curing Agent (Part B): 4 kg

Storage

This product must be stored in a cool, dry, and well-ventilated indoor warehouse. The shelf life is one year under normal room temperature conditions.

Safety

All sources of ignition are strictly prohibited at the paint mixing and application sites, and good ventilation must be maintained. Application personnel must wear protective equipment to prevent inhalation of paint mist and contact with eyes or skin. In case of skin contact, wash immediately with soap and water. In case of eye contact, rinse immediately with plenty of fresh water and seek medical attention.

Disclaimer

  • The protective performance of any coating depends largely on the application process. Application factors such as surface preparation and dry film thickness will directly impact the service life of the coating system. Users must ensure compliance with the specified application conditions when using this product.
